Baloch HomelandThe Baloch homeland is known as Balochistan. It is larger in size than France. The News and Balochistan InsightHUB: Pakistan FC shot dead innocent Baluch student
Occupied Baluchistan: (September 3, 2010) Pakistani FC has opened indiscriminate fire on a peaceful rally in Hub Baluchistan; as a result of the firing one Baluch student Mohammad Jan Marri was killed. Baloch are treated as aliens in their own homeland Balochistan: Amnesty official - Violations Belong Alongside Those In Iraq, Afghanistan And Gaza Human rights violations by Pakistan remain some of the world’s worst and are the ‘least reported’ says official
UNPO (September 2, 2010) There is no way to measure which is the worst when it comes to human rights violations: Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan or Balochistan. Curt Goering, who is senior deputy executive director of Amnesty International USA (AIUSA), and currently works at the organization’s national section headquarters in New York City, said this at an Iftar gathering organized by the Amnesty International at its Washington DC headquarters Tuesday. Goering, who is a Middle Eastern expert, has been involved with Amnesty International at many levels for nearly three decades. UNPO PAKISTAN: FLOOD SITUATION IN BALOCHISTAN "A TRAGEDY WITHIN THE TRAGEDY Source: United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)
Date: 02 Sep 2010 (New York / Geneva / Islamabad: 02 September 2010): The United Nations and its partners are increasingly concerned about the humanitarian situation in flood-torn Pakistan's south-western province of Balochistan, and are working to step up their activities there. US to open consulate in Balochistan, says Patterson
QUETTA: (September 2, 2010) US Ambassador in Pakistan, Anne W Patterson has said that an American consulate will be set up in Quetta to oversee the development activities carried out by the Americans in Balochistan. “The consulate will be set up to monitor the development activities being carried out by the US in Balochistan. It will also ensure a close liaison between the Baloch people and the US, and would provide visa facility to the people of Balochistan,” she said, while refuting the allegation that the consulate was intended to monitor activities in Iran and Afghanistan at a press conference here on Wednesday. The Express Tribune Baluchistan Unrest:Pakistan-U.S. Relations Congressional Research Service p83 Pakistan’s vast south western Baluchistan province is about the size of California and accounts for 44% of the country’s land area, but only 5% of its population. The U.S. military has made use of bases in the region to support its operations in neighbouring Afghanistan. The province is the proposed setting for a pipeline that would deliver Iranian natural gas to both Pakistan and India, a project which, if brought to fruition, could bring hundreds of millions of dollars in annual transit fees to Islamabad’s national treasury, but conflict in Baluchistan reduces the appeal to investors of building a pipeline across the province. The presence in Baluchistan of Jundallah, a trans-border militant group that claims to fight on behalf of Baloch rights, has caused friction between Islamabad and Tehran. More broadly, such problems raise serious questions about Pakistan’s internal stability, national cohesion, and federal-provincial relations.427 Balochwarna From the Baloch nightmare to the British "Guantanamo" As told to Karlos Zurutuza and Wendy Johnson. Did you know where Balochistan is the first day you came to this court?” I asked the jury. “Now you know where it is, and what’s happening to our people there.” I was born in Western Balochistan. My family lives on both sides of what some people call “the border between Iran and Pakistan.” The name of my village is Kohak, and it is quite close to Panjgur town of Eastern Baluchistan (Pakistan-occupied Balochistan). Kohak was originally located in Pakistan, but our villagers tell us that one day they awoke to find themselves Iranian—the town had been given to the Shah of Iran. Nobody knows when the transfer officially took place. We don’t record our birth dates, but my guess is that I was born in 1982. Our way to remember is to relate our birth with something relevant that happened at the time; it can be big floods, a war, drought, etc. In my school documents it was recorded as 1982. Because we had few opportunities in Kohak—no school and no public transportation, only a mosque—my mother decided to send me to Quetta, Balochistan. The living conditions of the family on this side of the border were relatively better. I was around ten when I moved to Quetta for primary education. I went to high school and studied pre-medical at Baluchistan Degree College in Quetta, as well. My college was filled with Marri boys—Baloch belonging to the Marri tribe—who had left Pakistan in the 70s to seek refuge in Afghanistan when Bhutto began a military incursion in the Marri tribal area. Now they had returned from Afghanistan in the 1990s to live in an area called New Kahan, very close to Quetta city. Here they had no facilities at all—no houses, schools, etc. I had myself experienced what these Baloch were going through. In the East we are discriminated against because of our ethnicity, but in West Balochistan there is also the religious factor because we’re a religious minority—Sunni Muslims, not Shia like the majority of Iranians. When I learned of the misery the Marris had suffered at the hand of Pakistan—and even in Afghanistan they had been repressed—I realised how difficult it had been for them and we became close friends. thebaluch.com Please sign the petition: Zakir Majeed Baloch’s abduction and illegal detention
Occupied Baluchistan: (August 23, 2020) Hunger strike camp for release of Zakir Majeed Baloch entered into 102nd day but there is no information of Zakir Majeed’s whereabouts so far. A large number of people protest outside Quetta press club here on Monday. Addressing the protesters and media men Zakir Majeed Sisters said that the family has been sitting on protest for more than hundred days but the ignorance of the state (Pakistan) is unimaginable. “If Pakistan has even a shred of decency then they should surface Zakir Majeed and present him to their own court of law for a trial”. Zakir was struggling for human dignity, disappearing people for years like this shows the state’s savageness and uncivilised manners, he said. She appealed to all human loving organizations, Religions and Nations to take notice of State atrocities and play their vital role to save the life of her brother and thousands of other Baloch illegally detained persons.Balochwarna Hunger strike continues: Families of forced disappeared Baloch announced to widen their protests
Occupied Balochistan: (August 17, 2010) The protest for recovery of Zakir Majid entered the 96th consecutive day. Family of the vice chairman of BSO (Azaad) announced to widen their protest if Zakir Majeed is not recovered. While talking to political activist of different parties who visited the camp to express their solidarity with the family, sister of Zakir Majeed said, “Our family is on protest and hunger strike for last four months, but no one has taken notice of our protest including the judicial”. She appealed to the United Nations and all other peace loving organisations to play their role for safe recovery of Zakir Majeed and all Baloch forced disappeared prisoners. Baloch Professor Interrupted While Addressing Group of Journalists and General Public
Karachi: Professor Saba Dasthyari, a Baloch intellectual, poet and linguists addressed a group of journalists and the public about the Pakistan’s crimes against the Baloch. He stated that since forceful occupation of Baluchistan from1948 till 2010, “This missing person issue is going on in Baluchistan”. Similarly, he stated in western occupied Baluchistan where Iranian Savak (Organization of National Security and Information), and Mullahs rulers hand Baloch have been disappearing, and the execution of Baloch is going on till today. He stated if someone writes a book about the Pakistan's war crimes against the Baloch, like Bertrand Russell who had written a book of American “War Crimes in Vietnam” Pakistan’s war crimes list will be endless in Baluchistan. While addressing such bitter historical facts to the audience he was interrupted on stage by a Pakistani female journalist, Nargis Khanum. She attempted to stop him during his speech. But he stated to the Pakistani journalist that you are also a journalist then do not disrupt me, let’s have courage to face the truth and not be afraid from the truth. He told the audience; as long as the historical facts of Baluchistan are not accepted such as Baloch and Baluchistan are separate than Pakistan. The decades of ongoing Baluchistan political conflict will not be resolved. Professor Saba Dasthyari himself, as an educator and linguistic clearly rejected the false claim of state of Pakistan, that Baloch should have good education and good schools. He stated it is not Pakistan’s problem and Baloch nation is going to handle that problem once Baluchistan has become independent. Balochhomeland. Analysis: Resenting the yoke - Mir Mohammad Ali Talpur
"Dear readers that are precisely what I wish to emphasise. Surprisingly, and unfortunately, all those confronted with national struggles like those of the Baloch, Kurds, Palestinians, Kashmiris, Chechens, etc, impute that foreign powers fan the insurgency and fail to comprehend that injustices and colonial yoke provoke insurgencies and not RAW and their ilk and, moreover, people have aspirations which are independent of external influence. The Baloch have, throughout history, resented yokes; they fiercely fought Nausherwan’s (531-578 AD) attempts to suppress them. Firdausi in Shahnama unreservedly praised Baloch valour, independence of spirit and love of freedom. Could it be that he too was paid by RAW to instigate them with eulogies?"
By Belaar Baloch, (July 14, 2010) Since their incorporation into Iran and Pakistan, both parts of Balochistan have been controlled in a brutal fashion. Tehran and Islamabad continued to extract resources while maintaining internal security through a crude mix of terror and inducement. To strengthen its hold on the Iranian part, Tehran systematically crushed tribal power – the last line of defence guarding against Persian domination of the people of western Balochistan. By contrast, Pakistan never succeeded in fully imposing itself on eastern Balochistan; instead, it relied on tactics redolent of earlier colonial modes of control: first, offering meagre bribes to an elite willing to collaborate daylight natural-resource robbery; and second, constant use of force or threat of force against nationalists, who opposed their plans. Despite the relative success of this strategy in maintaining for decades their exploitative policies, these two countries now appear to bent on full-scale control of the region, transforming the native population into an aboriginal-type minority. In Search of Baloch National Interest Balochistan Bar Association boycotts courts and observed Black Day
Occupied Balochistan:(June 12, 2010)Balochistan Bar Association on Friday boycotted all court proceedings and observed Black Day on the eve of visit of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to provincial capital of Quetta as protest over lack of judiciary’s role in recovery of missing Baloch political workers. The boycott and Black Day were observed on the call of Balochistan Bar Association to register their protest over what they termed ‘lukewarm’ attitude of Apex court headed by Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry who also belongs to Balochistan. Due to boycott, the lawyers belonging to Baloch Bar did not appear before the courts in the whole province to register their protest regarding missing of hundreds of Baloch. Sadiq Raisani, President of Baloch Bar Association claimed that the boycott was very effective and said that it was in fact an attempt to seek the attention of International human rights organisations and UN towards Baloch missing persons. Baloch bar has chosen the day in connection with the visit of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for his and courts inability to address Baloch issues, adding, that some 8,000 Baloch political workers and activists had been whisked away by intelligence agencies during Musharraf dictatorial regime and the process was still continuing...The Nation Taliban threat forces shutdown of Baloch schools
Islamabad, May 15 (IANS) The Pakistani Taliban has sent threatening letters to schools in Balochistan province, bordering Iran and Afghanistan, which has forced the institutions to shut down, a media report said Saturday. A number of schools, including two girls’ schools, have closed in Balochistan provincial capital Quetta after the school managements received threatening letters, sent by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Balochistan chapter, Dawn.com reported. The letters threatened that if “purdah” was not observed in schools, then teachers and administrative heads will have to bear the consequences. The militant outfit said there were many TTP informants among the students and staffers and warned the school authorities of dire consequences in case of non-compliance. Similar letters threatening action against wearing “western clothes” were sent to schools in Mastung district. A student leader goes missing after his alleged arrest by state agents; a female student demonstrator is sentenced to three years in jail
The Asian Human Rights Commission has received information that a student activist has been arrested by members of a military intelligence agency, and his whereabouts are still unknown. Another female student has been fined and sentenced to three years in prison on sedition charges by the Anti Terrorism Court for heading a demonstration against disappearances. The cases show that harsh crackdowns on free speech, association and assembly continue in the province, contrary to the claims of its democratically elected government. The Iranian regime is executing Baloch people based on allegations such as sedition, drug smuggling and terrorism. Through such false allegations the fundamentalist regime is portraying the Baloch legal and legitimate struggle wrongly to the international community. Meanwhile the non-democratic Iranian regime has been denying the Baloch people their birth rights in their own homeland of Hundreds of Baloch youth and Baloch Sunni religious scholars have been executed without any fair trial nor have they had any chance to present their evidence in court. Recently, on June 20th 2009, two Baloch were executed in Zahedan, the capital city of Balochistan, by the order of Iranian regime's Islamic court. List

Chakar Qambarani Baloch was abducted by the Pakistani intelligence agencies on 6 February 2009 and has been missing ever since. His family member, party colleagues and well-wishers have already started a token hunger strike earlier this month, today is the 17th day of their hunger strike. The hunger strike participants appealed to the international Human Rights Organisation, the EU and the UN to take notice of the Pakistani atrocities against the Baloch nation.
Meanwhile Chakar Qambarani Baloch's mother today came in public and addressed the newsmen at Quetta press club. She said that her son Chakar Qambarani Baloch and Dr Bashir Azeem Baloch were whisked away by the personal of Pakistani intelligence agencies on 6 February 2009. After one and a half month's illegal imprisonment Dr Bashir Azeem was released but her son (Chakar) was still missing. She warned that if her son was not released within five days, she along with the sister and little daughter of Chakar Qambarani Baloch will sit on hunger strike till death. She said if anything happened to them during the hunger strike, the provincial governemnt of Balochistan and Pakistan's federal government should be held responsible for that. She said "we have tried all democratic ways and means of
protests i.e. we took to streets, we informed the governor of
Balochistan, we submitted appeals to Balochistan high court but nothing
seems to work. Only those people can understand my pain and suffering
whose loved ones are also missing. I appeal to all those mothers,
sister and daughter whose loved ones have been separated from them,
come and help me and together we can raise voice and make it possible
for
She said that her son did not commit any crimes and she did not know why he was still being held and possibly severely tortured. She appealed to the international Human Rights Bodies to take notice of the abduction of innocent Baloch by Pakistani intelligence agencies. She however questions those so called Baloch who are a working for Pakistan government that what if their loved one were missing? Don't they love their children? Aren't they human being and don't they have any feeling? She said today these Baloch are only excited for a seat or a post but they are forgetting that they will be answerable to their motherland someday. She said the governor of Balochistan has told them that her son was in the custody of intelligence agencies but the intelligence agencies denied this in court. However it is obvious now that her son was in the custody of intelligence agencies of Pakistan because Shahzeb Baloch of BSO - Azaad who was released on 17 Jun from Loralia said that Chakar Qambari Baloch and other Baloch youth were with him in Army barracks in that place, where he was held in past several months. On the other hand family of Juma Khan Marri has said that he has once again been abducted by Pakistani's intelligence agencies. They said Juma Khan was first abducted on 21 October 2006 and was released after several months of torture and agony. However he has been picked up on 12 Jun 2009 once again. They said that Juma Marri is a contractor at Hazarganji fruit and vegetable market. Other contractors and family of Mr Marri have tried to register a case against the intelligence agencies in Shalkot police station but the police refused to register a case. They alleged that the intelligence agencies have abducted 1500 persons from New Kahan "also known as Marri camp" only and thousands of people including women and children have been abducted and are being illegally detained from different parts of Balochistan including Quetta, Hub, Panjgur, Turbat, Kohlu, Dera Bugti and Noshki. They appealed to the UN to take notice of the abductions of the citizens of Balochistan. News source: Daily Tawar
