Khan of Kalat for international mediation on Balochistan

5

LONDON: The UK-based self-exiled Khan of Kalat has said that without international mediation he would not become part of any talks to address the security-related and economic problems of Balochistan.

Mir Suleman Daud Baloch, who is awaiting a decision on his asylum application from the House of Lords, plans to move the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the status of Kalat, which became part of Pakistan under an agreement signed on March 27, 1948, between Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the then Khan of Kalat Mir Ahmad Yar Khan.

A news item three days back had termed it a positive sign that the Khan of Kalat had not yet moved the ICJ over the accusation that Pakistan has not fulfilled the promises it had made at the time of signing the treaty, but the real reason behind the delay is the Khan of Kalat’s inability to travel outside of Britain while the British government considers his appeal.

American slavery better than that of Punjab: Marri

LONDON -- (Ahmar Mustikhan) American slavery is better than Punjabi slavery and the Baluch are not willing to become part of the same union with the Punjab, Baluch national hero Hairbyair Marri told a key publisher from the Punjab capital of Lahore, who is considered close to the present civilian leadership in Pakistan.

"We are not Pakistanis, we are Baluch. We never consented to joining Pakistan," Marri said.

In an interview with celebrated publisher Najam Sethi, Marri who is political heir apparent of legendary Baluch nationalist leader Nawab Khair Bakhs Marri said nothing short of independence from Punjab's colonial yoke is acceptable to the Baluch people and demanded of the Punjab to give a firm time-table for Punjab army and establishment pullout from Baluchistan.

"American enslavement is better than Punjabi enslavement because the Punjabis will come and occupy our lands for good. The Americans will only steal our oil and gas, whilst the Punjabis will obliterate our national identity," Marri told Sethi

Baloch mother: "United Nations should play it's role by releasing Chakar Kambrani"

Quetta: The Baloch Republican Party (BRP) jailed leader Chakar Kambrani, his mother addressed to a journalist. The United Nations, European Unions and particularly she appealed to the mother of John Solecki( American UN official) to come forward and play her role and help release her son Chakar Kambrani.

She states as a mother she felt the same pain while her son John Solecki was kidnapped. How hard it is for a mother while her son was apart from her and the rest of his family?

Therefore, she should appeal to the United States and European Unions to voice our concern, because my son was kidnapped after her son John Solecki was kidnapped (in Quetta, Balochistan). Since then her son has been releases and arrived home safely.

I am also appealing to the United Nations to help release my son Chakar Kambrani, along with Jalil Regi, Fareed Baloch, Dr. Deen Mohammed Baloch, Manzoor Baloch and the rest of the all Baloch prisoners.

A Baloch mothers concern is that there is no trust with the Pakistani government agencies, they can harm the Baloch youth in their prisons at any time.

We have already seen that in the case of Baloch leader Ghulam Mohammed Baloch and his fellow’s who were brutally murdered by Pakistani intelligence agencies.

If the International institutions do not pay attention to such a critical problem we fear Pakistan’s inhuman agencies may harm the Baloch in their prisons. Therefore, the United Nations and International institutions should take immediate action.

conference09

Quetta (online) July 2, 2009 the president of the Balochistan National Party, Sardar Akthar Mengal, has stated the Taliban are the “Ghost” of Pakistani army and establishment.

We already rejected. All the mega projects of Balochistan agreements, which are already against the will of the Baloch Nation, such as: Gwader (deep sea port) Sandak, Rico Dig and Pakistan/Iran gas pipe lines.

Addressing the press conference from his residence, he stated there is no change in Balochistan’s situation.

Before the rulers were given dead bodies inside the coffin, from present rulers Baloch Nation is getting their decomposed bodies as a gift. Due to this the mistrust between Baloch and rulers has been increased.

From 1947 till today Baloch nation has experienced a genocide, we strongly condemn that and are demanding to the United Nations to investigate and accept the right of the self-determination of Balochistan, according to their Charter of the Rights.

karima

The Asian Human Rights Commission has received information that a student activist has been arrested by members of a military intelligence agency, and his whereabouts are still unknown. Another female student has been fined and sentenced to three years in prison on sedition charges by the Anti Terrorism Court for heading a demonstration against disappearances. The cases show that harsh crackdowns on free speech, association and assembly continue in the province, contrary to the claims of its democratically elected government.

CASE DETAILS: (According to information from the Baloch Students’ Organisation-Azad)

According to information we have received, activist student Mr. Zakir Majeed was allegedly abducted by intelligence agents on June 8, 2009 in Mastung, near Quetta. Majeed is the senior vice chairperson of the Baloch Student Organization-Azad (BSO) and was with two other members, Waheed Baloch and Basit Baloch, near a busy marketplace at around noon when they were stopped by plain-clothed men. The men, who had driven up in two cars without number plates, asked a few questions and said that they were intelligence agents working for the Pakistan army. They took Majeed away with them in the cars without making any charges. One car was a Toyota Vego, the other a Toyota Surf SSR. June 10, 2009

Baloch people are hanged in public by Iranian regime

Baloch Homeland logo

The Iranian regime is executing Baloch people based on allegations such as sedition, drug smuggling and terrorism. Through such false allegations the fundamentalist regime is portraying the Baloch legal and legitimate struggle wrongly to the international community.

Meanwhile the non-democratic Iranian regime has been denying the Baloch people their birth rights in their own homeland of Balochistan for many decades.

Hundreds of Baloch youth and Baloch Sunni religious scholars have been executed without any fair trial nor have they had any chance to present their evidence in court. Recently, on June 20th 2009, two Baloch were executed in Zahedan, the capital city of Balochistan, by the order of Iranian regime's Islamic court.

A Baloch mother threatens to go on hunger strike till death if her son is not released

Quetta: The mother of Chakar Qambarani has threatened to sit on hunger strike till death if her son is not released within five days. Chakar Qambarani Baloch was abducted by the Pakistani intelligence agencies on 6 February 2009 and has been missing ever since. His family member, party colleagues and well-wishers have already started a token hunger strike earlier this month, today is the 17th day of their hunger strike. The hunger strike participants appealed to the international Human Rights Organisation, the EU and the UN to take notice of the Pakistani atrocities against the Baloch nation.

"The international community must put pressure on Pakistan to make sure the safe release of the missing Baluch because we fear that the missing Baluch might suffer the same fate as the martyred of Murghab (Turbat town in Balochistan). I want to remind those who call themselves the champions of human right but they are silent on the death and destruction of Baloch Nation." said one participant of the strike.

Meanwhile Chakar Qambarani Baloch's mother today came in public and addressed the newsmen at Quetta press club. She said that her son Chakar Qambarani Baloch and Dr Bashir Azeem Baloch were whisked away by the personal of Pakistani intelligence agencies on 6 February 2009. After one and a half month's illegal imprisonment Dr Bashir Azeem was released but her son (Chakar) was still missing. She warned that if her son was not released within five days, she along with the sister and little daughter of Chakar Qambarani Baloch will sit on hunger strike till death. She said if anything happened to them during the hunger strike, the provincial governemnt of Balochistan and Pakistan's federal government should be held responsible for that.

She said "we have tried all democratic ways and means of protests i.e. we took to streets, we informed the governor of Balochistan, we submitted appeals to Balochistan high court but nothing seems to work. Only those people can understand my pain and suffering whose loved ones are also missing. I appeal to all those mothers, sister and daughter whose loved ones have been separated from them, come and help me and together we can raise voice and make it possible for our sons and relatives to come back home safe".

She said that her son did not commit any crimes and she did not know why he was still being held and possibly severely tortured. She appealed to the international Human Rights Bodies to take notice of the abduction of innocent Baloch by Pakistani intelligence agencies. She however questions those so called Baloch who are a working for Pakistan government that what if their loved one were missing? Don't they love their children? Aren't they human being and don't they have any feeling? She said today these Baloch are only excited for a seat or a post but they are forgetting that they will be answerable to their motherland someday.

She said the governor of Balochistan has told them that her son was in the custody of intelligence agencies but the intelligence agencies denied this in court. However it is obvious now that her son was in the custody of intelligence agencies of Pakistan because Shahzeb Baloch of BSO - Azaad who was released on 17 Jun from Loralia said that Chakar Qambari Baloch and other Baloch youth were with him in Army barracks in that place, where he was held in past several months.

On the other hand family of Juma Khan Marri has said that he has once again been abducted by Pakistani's intelligence agencies. They said Juma Khan was first abducted on 21 October 2006 and was released after several months of torture and agony. However he has been picked up on 12 Jun 2009 once again. They said that Juma Marri is a contractor at Hazarganji fruit and vegetable market. Other contractors and family of Mr Marri have tried to register a case against the intelligence agencies in Shalkot police station but the police refused to register a case. They alleged that the intelligence agencies have abducted 1500 persons from New Kahan "also known as Marri camp" only and thousands of people including women and children have been abducted and are being illegally detained from different parts of Balochistan including Quetta, Hub, Panjgur, Turbat, Kohlu, Dera Bugti and Noshki. They appealed to the UN to take notice of the abductions of the citizens of Balochistan.
